By now, you've probably heard "First Saints" used in a sentence (If not, you have now ;) ). You're probably wondering what it's all about, and I'm here to help. Boiled down to it's essence,
the concept of what's being called the "First Saints Covenant Community" is the idea that the church (all the christ followers world-wide) is not lots of little pieces, but a single unit,
singular in the sense that we're all about the same thing - Christ. "First Saints" is a step towards recognizing that concept in our local churches.
In practice, "First Saints" is the joining of three "churches" into one: St. Paul's UMC, First Friendship UMC, and St. George's Island UMC; as of January 1, 2008, will be one church.
How that's going to work out is in many ways up to us, but there have been a number of gifted people working on the nuts and bolts of this union over the last year or so. If you're
